Originally created in England, the style became a favorite of the Russian Czars, as its high alcohol content not only ensured preservation during long journeys but also delivered a pleasant warming sensation against the harsh Russian winters. After maturing for three months in French oak barrels, Leopoldina RIS undergoes bottle refermentation, gaining further structure, complexity, and elegance. Its deep, dark color with minimal foam gives way to layered aromas: fruity notes followed by sweet hints of toffee, caramel, and chocolate, all rounded off with a firm touch of coffee.
